It’s the battle of the dips! Unilever Food Solutions (UFS) Philippines and Lady’s Choice® are in search for the best dip recipe in the country that will be the ‘Choice of the Nation’. In this one-of-a-kind culinary competition, chefs and cooks are challenged to whip up delectable mayo dips that will set their dishes apart, and will make Filipino diners swear by it.
“With an overwhelming number of choices for dining out today, we at UFS want to help chefs and cooks innovate to make their dishes stand out. We believe that the potency of one good ingredient gives a restaurant many ways to present and prepare any dish,” said James Benedict Carreon, Managing Director of UFS Philippines. “This is why through ‘Choice of the Nation’, we will showcase how the versatility of Lady’s Choice can inspire chefs and cooks to innovate and elevate the taste of their dishes just by whipping up a delectable dip that will change diners’ experience.”

From the chicken sandwich recipes from their childhood, to the family’s traditional macaroni salad every Christmas, to the barkada’s favorite late-night pairing for pica-pica, up to the signature baked dishes they order at restaurants to celebrate occasions—this well-loved mayonnaise is that one ingredient that adds that flavor they are well-familiar with.
With its versatility as an ingredient, it is no secret that Lady’s Choice® allows for limitless possibilities for dishes—including turning a simple fried or boiled dish to a tastier spectacle with the magic of a mayo dip.
How you can be the Choice of the Nation?
Choice of the Nation is open to all chefs and cooks in the Philippines. Aspiring participants simply have to whip up one (1) special dip recipe using Lady’s Choice® Real Mayonnaise and upload them on www.ladyschoiceofthenation.com. Apart from providing personal details and information about their respective restaurants, they need to upload the full recipe and name, the description of the dip, and 1-3 mouthwatering photos of their entry. All entries are welcome until June 30, 2018.
All submitted dip recipes will be qualified for the online voting period for diners which will run from July 1 to July 31. The top ten chefs and cooks that will accumulate the highest votes will showcase their dip innovations to the competition’s esteemed set of judges and avid foodies at the Choice of the Nation cook-off on August 2018.
Some of the country’s esteemed chefs such as Chef Fernando Aracama, Chef Rob Pengson, Chef Sau del Rosario, Chef Kalel Chan and Chef Joanne Gendrano will judge the top 10 finalists according to the following criteria: taste, food presentation, creativity and innovation, audience voting, and the proper use of Lady’s Choice infused in each dip creation.
The chef whose dip recipe will be declared Choice of the Nation champion will bag a cash prize of P100,000, including free publicity features and a special gift pack from UFS and Lady’s Choice. Meanwhile, the first and second runners up will take home P80,000 and P50,000, respectively, plus special gift packs from UFS.
